An artful arrangement of photos on a wall is a skill. Let us help you make the most of it.
A little to the left, nudge to the right, a little lower maybe? Arranging the frames artfully upon the wall requires more than dexterity in hammering nails. Let us walk you through some basic principles of what goes into creating an effective photowall.
Right height:You don’t want to make this mistake. Achieving the right height for hanging is crucial. Ideally, the centre of the anchor piece should be at the eye level of a person with average height. This should be 5’-5’5”ftl. An anchor piece is the major or main photo of the photo wall. This makes it easier for the eye to travel.
When unsure stick with the classics:Some things look really good inside your head, but in reality, not so much. So if you are not sure of how a certain design might turn out, just stick to the basics. Go for centrally aligned symmetric design. It’s a tried and tested formula and looks classy as well.
Think in multiples:When designing the photowall, think of multiple photographs instead of individual. Have a theme that binds these together. Wedding photos in gilded frames, Black and white portraits in sterling silver or rough-cut wood frames for landscapes. Whichever memory you choose to embellish your wall with, we offer you a solution to make it look the best.
The Anchor Piece:If you want one picture dominating the room, choose a striking portrait, landscape, painting etc. and hang it in the centre on a blank wall, behind a sofa in the living room or the bed in master bedroom. It should not, however, be larger than the furniture piece itself. It can be about 75% if its size max. And don’t hang any other article that might complete for attention in the room. This minimal look should be complimented with austere deco of the room.

Photography is an art of capturing beauty in a frame. A good photograph can convey a thousand words. And when displaying those photos it is important to choose the ones that are the most impressive and emotive. Quality of picture is sometimes used as a yardstick to measure the beauty of it. However there is no accurate quantifiable quality on or above which a photo is considered good. So always judge a photo based on the effect it has on its audience rather than the technical aspects such as pixels.
